OVO Sound artist Baka Not Nice needed a lyric video and suite of social promo assets to support the release of his single "UP," a track centered on upward momentum and success. I was tasked with bringing the song's cover art to life.
Balloons and Canadian hundred-dollar bills were modeled and simulated to rise endlessly into the sky, creating a visual metaphor that mirrors the track's themes of elevation and progress. The 3D renders were composited in After Effects alongside kinetic typographic animation, where each line dissolves and rises off-screen in rhythm with Baka's delivery.
The lyric video became the foundation for a series of social cutdowns designed to tease the release across platforms, translating the full narrative into scroll-stopping moments that drove anticipation.
